Our
centers utilize the A Beka curriculum. This teaching
method is dedicated to providing quality education from a Christian
perspective. Our preschool children learn everything necessary for Kindergarten
through the use of Bible stories, puppets, workbooks, songs, games and finger
plays.
Daily activities of our preschoolers include:
· Bible Time: Each morning begins with Bible time, lasting 30 minutes. The time will include pledges, a patriotic song, children’s Bible songs, memory verses, prayer and a children’s Bible story.
· Skills Development: Each day, in each class, time will be made for developing children’s learning skills. Activities will take place to enhance listening skills, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, visual perception and writing skills.
· Phonics and Reading: Children will first master vowel and consonant sounds, then form blends and then simple reading.
· Writing: Children will begin to master lower case letter, then connecting letters to make blends and then words. Then we move on to capital letters. Good writing position and tracing lead to good writing habits.
· Numbers: Children will master counting 1-100 and recognize 1-20.
· Language Development: Children will enjoy activities and games about animals, people and places. This will help the children think and build their vocabulary.
· Activity Time: This time will include show and tell, poetry, finger plays, drama, nursery rhymes, art, learning centers, movement and outside play.
You and we are blessed to have children. They are the greatest gifts we can ever receive. We have a job to do: provide a nurturing environment, instill values that uphold our traditions, build character, and provide a positive influence in these precious lives.
